Molecular Diagnostics

The Molecular Genetics Laboratory at the University of North Carolina offers an array of clinical molecular tests.  The directors of the laboratory work diligently to ensure rapid turn-around time and clear interpretation of each test.  We work closely with referring clinicians, both within UNC and outside, to provide optimal care to all patients.

Cytogenetics

The UNC Cytogenetics Laboratory offers both traditional G-banded karyotyping, and a wide variety of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assays to detect and characterize both constitutional and acquired chromosome abnormalities.
